Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Journal of Data Analysis and Critical Management (JDACM)
The Journal of Data Analysis and Critical Management (JDACM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the guidelines and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Duties of Authors
1.1 Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original. Any work or words of others must be appropriately cited. Plagiarism in all forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
1.2 Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Submitting the same research to multiple journals constitutes unethical behavior.
1.3 Data Access and Retention
Authors may be asked to provide the raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
1.4 Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All co-authors must approve the final version of the paper.
1.5 Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors should disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
1.6 Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced their work.
1.7 Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.
2. Duties of Editors
2.1 Publication Decisions
The editor is responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published, based on the validation of the work and its importance to researchers and readers.
2.2 Fair Play
Manuscripts shall be evaluated solely on intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
2.3 Confidentiality
The editor and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher.
2.4 Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished information in their own research without the explicit written consent of the author.
3. Duties of Reviewers
3.1 Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
3.2 Promptness
Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research or knows that a prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.
3.3 Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
3.4 Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
3.5 Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
3.6 Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
4. Ethical Oversight
JDACM follows strict ethical standards regarding:
- Data fabrication and falsification
- Image manipulation
- Citation manipulation
- Plagiarism detection (using standard software tools)
Any ethical concerns or misconduct will be handled in accordance with COPE guidelines.
5. Handling of Misconduct
In cases of suspected misconduct, JDACM will:
- Conduct an initial assessment
- Contact the authors for explanation
- Seek expert opinion if required
- Take appropriate action such as:
- Correction
- Retraction
- Expression of concern
6. Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their work while granting JDACM the right of first publication. Articles may be published under an appropriate open-access license (e.g., Creative Commons).
7. Archiving and Access
JDACM ensures long-term digital preservation of published articles through reliable archiving systems.
8. Complaints and Appeals
Authors, reviewers, or readers may submit complaints or appeals regarding editorial decisions or ethical issues. All complaints will be handled fairly and transparently.
9. AI and Generative Tools Policy
- AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) may be used only for language editing, not for generating original research content without disclosure.
- Authors must clearly state the use of AI tools in their manuscript.
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
10. Disclaimer
The opinions expressed in published articles are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the editors or the publisher.
